Have you listened to jazz guitar or bossa nova and wished you could play like that? This workshop can get you started. We’ll be looking at what’s happening when you play chords on the guitar, and how to modify them to get those jazz sounds. We’ll also learn some simple jazz tunes, and some basic improvisation.
You don’t need any jazz experience to attend, but you should know the guitar reasonably well, perhaps for blues, or rock, folk or classical. You don’t need to be able to read music or tab for this workshop.
Participants need to bring an acoustic or electric guitar with small practice amp.
Jeremy Kahn specializes in jazz guitar and bass, combining gigging in and around London with teaching individual lessons and on jazz courses. As well as jazz he sings and plays a variety of music including old folk songs and blues.
