Melodeon Beginners with Simon Care - 'SOLD OUT'
Adult/Age 15+ workshop To book please call Box Office on 01908 280800
A rare chance to try the small but mighty squeezebox, with instruments provided so beginners can have their first go.
The Melodeon is a powerful melodic and rhythmic part of traditional English music, as well as used successfully in crossover styles and other traditions. Drawing on traditional English dance tunes, the workshop will introduce basic technique, how to play with rhythm and feel, and how to play with other musicians. For anyone with an interest in English folk music, folk dance, or trying a squeezebox for the first time. Participants do not need to read music notation, and no previous squeezebox or folk music experience required, but a basic knowledge of music (scales, chords, time signatures) will help.
Simon Care is highly respected melodeon player and workshop leader, well known through his work with Edward II, The Albion Band, Whapweasel, Tickled Pink and many other projects.
Instruments provided. Notes provided.
Supported by Hobgoblin Music.
