Michael Janisch's debut album Purpose Built marks the beginning of an exciting solo career from a young but hugely experienced freelance jazz bassist who has performed with such world-class notables as Joe Lovano, Gary Husband, Sir John Dankworth and Shirley Horn. Janisch has called on some of the jazz world's most prominent young musicians to bring his music to life and the band features stellar performances from vibraphonist Jim Hart, Jay Phelps on trumpet, Paul Booth on saxes and Andrew Bain on drums.
